Women Writing Culture; the Harlem Renaissance and Women Writers

Muttsy

A story of a Black woman born in the South, Muttsy follows the main character on her journey as she starts a life in Harlem. Harlem was a cultural hub for African-Americans, and many migrated to the city after the civil war. The story allows us a look into the life of a Black woman and her struggles through the Harlem Renaissance; an important story that brings us closer to the experience of Black women in a male dominated narrative.
